Think Safety, But Be Prepared Just In Case
In any kind of event, it is important to remember that you are responsible, ultimately, for your personal safety. But a few things to consider include: 1) Extra clothes - bring enough clothes to cover exposed skin just in case it is really cold. You can always take some off if its warmer (as much off as you like). Remember, layering clothes is more effective than one thick garment. 2) Basic first aid kit for the car and a small one that you can pack with you. 3) Water container that you can pack with you. 4) Small heat packs for your hands and feet in case of exposure to frigid cold. 4) Blankets and heat packs for the car. 5) A cell phone if racing alone to contact friends/relatives or race officials in case you get in trouble.
